Board of Directors

The Reh-Fit Foundation is governed by a board of directors that establishes the Foundation’s mission, sets its strategic direction, and supervises and evaluates management’s execution of board approved strategies and plans. The board meets four times annually.

The Foundation board has three subcommittees – the Nominating & Governance Committee, the Finance & Investment Committee, and the Planned Giving Committee that each take on specific roles with regards to governance and overseeing Foundation operations.

Kevin McCulloch

Kevin McCulloch is a retired lawyer. He earned his B.A and L.L.B. degrees from the University of Manitoba and was called to the Bar in 1970. After twelve years in private practice Kevin joined the legal department of Manitoba Public Insurance, focusing on civil litigation. In 1994 he was appointed General Counsel, Vice President Legal and Corporate Secretary, Executive positions he held until his retirement from MPI in 2009.

In 2009 Kevin was elected to the Misericordia Health Centre Board of Directors. He served as Board Chair from 2012 to 2015 and currently serves as Past Chair of the MHC Board. He is a member of the Governance and Audit & Finance committees of the Board.

Kevin joined the Reh-Fit Centre in 2009 and remains an active member when not on the golf course.

Kristy Krahn

Kristy graduated from the Asper School of Business, at the University of Manitoba, with a Bachelor of Commerce (honours) degree. She is the Director of Finance and Human Resources at The Quark Group, one of the largest privately owned retail footwear chains in Western Canada, currently operating 36 stores in the region.

Passionate about serving others, Kristy has volunteered at a variety of organizations over the years both personally and professionally. She is a regular volunteer at and with Church of the Rock, has been recently involved with the Heart & Stroke Foundation and enjoys serving at Siloam Mission.

Kristy considers the pursuit of health and wellness a priority and has been a member of the Reh-Fit Centre since 2007. Kristy currently serves on the Nominating and Governance Committee of the Foundation.

Lauren Aseltine

Lauren graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005 and in 2015 became a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA). Lauren is currently the Senior Government Relations Officer at Manitoba Hydro.  

A long-time member of the Reh-Fit Centre, Lauren has a keen interest in all facets of improving and maintaining overall wellness. She is excited to serve on the Foundation Board, supporting the mission of the Centre, and helping to enhance the health and well-being of the community.

Lauren is currently Treasurer of the Foundation and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee.

Bill Elliott

Bill graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Masters in Natural Resource Management and followed his passion for the outdoors and wildlife conservation with Ducks Unlimited Canada, the Delta Waterfowl Research Station, and finishing his entire career in the not-for-profit sector with 35 years leading the dynamic growth of FortWhyte Alive.

For over 25 years Bill has enjoyed the health and social benefits of Reh-Fit Centre membership, and looks forward to contributing what he can to its mission and continuing development.

Susan Boulter - Centre Representative

Susan Boulter

In her 35-year career with the Province of Manitoba, Susan served as Deputy Director of the Companies’ Office,  Director of Driver and Vehicle Licencing, Chief Operating Officer of Materials Distribution Agency and, lastly, as Chief Operating Officer of the Vital Statistics Agency/Chair of the Funeral Board of Manitoba. She also chaired the Manitoba Service Excellence Awards, and the Vital Statistics Council for Canada.
 
Susan has been a volunteer for over 50 years. Most notably, she has served on the board of CancerCare Manitoba, was a lay bencher for the Law Society of Manitoba, chaired the Health Professions Advisory Council, chaired the Reh-Fit Foundation and was a member of the Public Utilities Board.  

Currently, she is on the Discipline Committees for the Association of Manitoba Land Surveyors, the College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents, and the Law Society of Manitoba. She is a panel member for hearings held under the act for individuals living with an intellectual disability, She has edited three editions of the Vital Statistics section of Halsbury’s Laws of Canada.
 
Susan is an Associate with the Winnipeg Art Gallery and has created floral arrangements for its Art in Bloom Festival.
 
Her father’s heart attack in 1973 prompted his physician, Dr. Mymin, to encourage him to lose weight, exercise and stop smoking. Her father took the advice and went on to become one of the founders of the Reh-Fit Centre. Susan honours her dad’s legacy by being a volunteer at the Reh-Fit.
 
Her brother’s heart attack was a stark warning to change her own life, and she became a member of the Centre, lost weight and retired! She is grateful for the Reh-Fit’s role in her journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Barry Brown - Director

Barry Brown

Barry Brown is President of Maple Leaf Construction based in Winnipeg. During his years working in the heavy construction and road building industry, he has served on numerous boards and chaired a number of local, national, and international construction associations, including serving as Chair of the Confederation of International Contractors Board of Directors.

Barry graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.Sc. Civil Engineering in 1974. He is married with two children and two grandchildren, and when time permits, he enjoys a number of hobbies including golf, boating, and woodworking.

Barry has been a member of the Reh-Fit since 1982 and was elected to the Reh-Fit Foundation Board of Directors in 2011.

Michael Dow

Michael Dow is a retired lawyer with a long-standing career in private practice. After earning a Bachelor of Commerce in 1979 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1982, he was called to the Bar in 1983.

Michael spent the majority of his career at Fillmore Reily LLP, where he became a partner and practiced until 2022. Over the course of four decades, Michael built a solid reputation for professionalism and sound legal judgment.

Michael joined the Foundation as a member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Planned Giving Committee in 2025.

Ryan Hardy

Ryan Hardy is currently the Vice President of Finance at Miller Environmental Corporation, where he is responsible for leading all financial aspects of the company. He joined Miller Environmental in 2024 after over 15 years at Canada Life. At Canada Life he held progressively more senior positions with his final role being Assistant Vice President, Canadian Controller. He holds the CPA and CFA professional designations. Ryan is a lifelong Winnipegger, where he lives with his wife and 2 kids (aged 13 and 10).

Ryan joined the Reh-Fit Foundation Board of Directors and the Foundation Finance and Investment Committee in 2025.

Michel Monnin - Director

Michel Monnin

Michel Monnin retired from the Manitoba Court of Appeal in September 2024, after nearly three decades of service. He was appointed to the Court of Appeal in 1995, following his appointment to the Court of Queen’s Bench in 1984.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Latin and Philosophy from Collège de Saint-Boniface and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Manitoba Law School. Michel was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1970 and practiced law until joining the judiciary.

Over the years, Michel has chaired the boards of the Festival du Voyageur, Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain, Manitoba Arts Council, Canadian Red Cross (Manitoba Division), and Francofonds. He has also sat on the boards of Résidence Despins and FortWhyte Alive.

Michel has been a member of the Reh-Fit Centre since 2006.

Betty Lou Rock

Betty Lou Rock is a registered nurse and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Calgary.
 
Betty Lou has worked in health care in Winnipeg for 40 plus years in the areas of cardiac care, critical care, and emergency medical services, holding many clinical and administrative positions over the years.  Betty Lou In recent years, helped to establish the STARS air ambulance service in Manitoba. Now retired, Betty Lou is an active volunteer with Harvest Manitoba and the school immunization program.                     
 
Betty Lou has been a member at Reh-Fit for several years and believes strongly in the values and activities of the Centre. She enjoys regular workouts, yoga, and coffee time with other members. Betty Lou has been a member since 2012.

John Schubert

John Schubert is the former President of McCaine Electric Ltd., a leading Winnipeg-based electrical contractor providing electrical installation, maintenance, and related services to clients in the industrial, institutional, and commercial markets. Contracts have ranged from Ronald McDonald House to the Winnipeg Blue Bomber stadium.

A construction industry veteran, John has over 40 years of experience participating on industry-related boards and associations. He has Chaired many of these, such as the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology – which provides both secondary and post-secondary skills training – and both the Winnipeg and Canadian Construction Associations, which seek to build Canada with ethics, skills, and responsibility.

John studied at the University of Manitoba, where he received his BA in Economics & Political Science in 1974, and in 1976 he completed an MBA in Finance. He has been a Gold Seal Certified Project Manager since 2005.

John is married with three children and five grandchildren, all of whom keep John very busy. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and playing golf.

Ashley Schulz

Ashley is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) currently employed at Canada Life as Manager, Financial Management & Planning. Her previous positions with Canada Life include Associate Manager, Financial Management & Planning, Assistant Manager, Corporate Financial Reporting and Sr. Accounting Specialist, Group Customer Financial Reporting.

She has a passion for fitness and giving back to the community. She is currently Director on the Board of Family Dynamics, which brings programs, partnerships and resources together to empower and strengthen families and communities. She also serves as a Business Mentor with Rise, a national organization dedicated to empowering people with mental health and addiction challenges to achieve greater social and economic inclusion through entrepreneurship.

Ashley describes herself as a team player and leader, with excellent organizational and time management skills. She has a young family, which also keeps her busy.

Bonnie Siemens

Bonnie is a financial planner with New Outlook Wealth, bringing over 35 years of specialized expertise in insurance and estate planning. She is passionate about advancing women’s financial literacy and helping protect families against financial risks.

A believer in continuing education, Bonnie recently earned her Real Wealth Manager designation, adding to her designations as a Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant.

Throughout her career, Bonnie has held leadership roles in several respected organizations, including:

  • Estate Planning Council of Winnipeg
  • Provincial Council of Women
  • Advocis
  • National Council of Women of Canada
  • Insurance Council of Manitoba
  • Business and Professional Women of Winnipeg, where she served for many years


She also has strong community involvement, including co-chairing the Celebrating Women Gala for the past 5 years.

Bonnie and her husband, Dan, are strong supporters of the Reh-Fit Centre, which played a vital role in Dan’s recovery following heart bypass surgery in 2019 through the specialized rehabilitation program.

Bonnie has been a member of the Centre since 2009 and currently serves on the Foundation’s Planned Giving Committee, continuing her commitment to supporting the Centre.

Jim Spencer - Director

Jim Spencer

Jim is a graduate of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Commerce. He has held senior management roles in the Western Canadian retail Co-operative sector and before retiring held the position of COO of Aikins Law.  

He has been on various Boards including Chair of Tourism Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Convention Centre. He has also served on the Boards of the Manitoba Museum, Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, MB Liquor and Lotteries and the Children's Hospital Research Centre. 

Jim is a long-time member of the Reh-Fit centre and has enjoyed being a member of the Running Club for many years.
